A serverless outbound email gateway on AWS

Transactional mail, marketing mail and newsletters all leave the same organisation, but they matter to different audiences in different ways and they fail in different ways too.
Running that through a self-managed mail server means owning deliverability, reputation, patching and capacity — for a function that is not the business.
The approach
Amazon SES is a cloud email service that any application can send through, built for high-volume automated mail. It supports dedicated, shared or owned IP addresses, and reports sender statistics so deliverability problems are visible rather than guessed at.
The architecture is serverless: the application hands mail to SES, Lambda handles the surrounding logic, and there is no instance in the middle. Billing follows what is actually sent.
